I mostly learned how to work the application itself from Diigo. I already knew how to annotate things, but it does make it easier. This application would be very helpful when working on group projects! It's really good to be able to see everyone's comments in the same place. This would be good when working with high school students because it would make it easy to see who's actually done the reading. It would also be good in the workplace if there are things everyone has to review. It would let everyone ask questions of the whole group at once.
At the remembering level, PowerPoint would be good to show students how to properly cite things. It would also be a good way to show students helpful info-graphics and maps. In an English lesson, it would be a useful way to show the correct way to cite to MLA standards.
At the understanding level, a PowerPoint is a good way to group similar themes together. In an English literature class on a specific book, one slide with the main themes of the book would be a useful jumping off point for students.
At the applying level, it would be good to have students make their own PowerPoint presentation. In an English class, it would be a good way for them to practice properly citing things, as well as giving them practice sharing their ideas with their class when they present the PowerPoint.
At the analyze level, PowerPoint presentations would be a good way to show how ideas are connected. In an English class, you could have an idea on each slide that leads into the next concept you want to talk about.
At the evaluate level, it would be good to have students make their own PowerPoint presentations to present to their class. Having a student teach their classmates about a section in a book is a good way to evaluate their progress.
At the create level, it could be used in a similar way to the evaluate level. Having students make their own PowerPoints about a book would teach them to use the principals of design and help them learn to make coherent projects.
It's important for teachers to stay on top of technology innovation in education, since they are responsible for teaching students about it. I would use teacher.org to stay on top of new technology trends. It seems like a trustworthy place to find news about professional development. It has many different resources to help teachers figure out their next moves, professionally. I particularly appreciate their "how to become" tab where they tell people how to become teachers.
